My work is profoundly influenced and shaped by my twenty-five-year practice teaching traditional Inuit qajaq building. The familiar materials, forms, tools, and movement of qajat can be seen in all my work. Wood, organic curves, and the marks of hand tools or hand processes all have a voice in the finished pieces.
